Apply to H3R PlaySmart
H3R PlaySmart is our free program for young people in sport. You learn money and digital skills, build things, and tell your story, with mentors along the way.
Who can apply
- You are 13 to 18 years old on Oct 31, 2026.
- You live in or near Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, or Los Angeles.
- It is free to apply and free to take part.
The deadline
Send your application by Oct 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian also signs online. We email them a link after you submit.
What you need
- Your email address. We send you a link to confirm it.
- Your school name, grade, and ZIP code.
- If you are under 18: your parent or guardian's name and email.
- An essay of 750 words or fewer on one of four topics. You can write it over several days. Your work saves as you go, and you can come back on any device from a link we email you.

You can still use the Word or PDF copy and email it to apply@h3rstoryfoundation.org.
How we handle your information
- We ask for as little as we can. We do not ask for a phone number or a home address.
- We use your birth date once, to check your age. We do not keep it.
- Your personal answers are encrypted before we store them.
- Only Foundation staff and the review panel see your application. The panel reads essays without names or schools.
- We never sell your information.
- You can withdraw at any time from a link in our emails. Your answers are deleted from the service. Backups clear within 30 days.
